Roof Underlayment
By J-Conn Roofing, Wednesday, October 9, 2019

Here at J-Conn Roofing we have qualified roofing contractors who know that it takes more than just shingles to protect your home. It takes an integrated system of components and layers designed to withstand the forces of nature outside while controlling temperature and humidity inside. The materials and system that we use gives you and your family the assurance that your roofing components are working together to help increase the performance of your roof! Shingles are the first line of defense against the weather. Roofing underlayment, often referred to as felt paper, is another layer of protection on your roof. The underlayment is installed directly on the roof decking to provide a water resistant barrier to your decking and also prevents the roof decking from soaking in moisture from the shingles. There are felt and synthetic underlayment options and based on your particular project, we here at J-Conn will select what is best for your home while also following manufacturer recommendations and code requirements.
