We have another wonderful poem to share written by a close friend. We are enjoying the stories and poems that are being sent to us and hope you all enjoy them too!
A Home by Mike H.
Grains of sand
Shingles in a workman’s hand
A father’s work, a mother’s plan
We all need a home
Every Sunday afternoon they drove by
Watching their dreams built brick by brick into the sky
A sturdy foundation yet still exposed to the light
Every home needs protection
For rains and winds will surely come
Young children’s sometimes perilous fun
Sometimes even heartstrings come undone
But together they grow and heal under one roof
Together a family sits at one table
Their moments peace from the busyness outside
A moment of gratitude for the sure things in life
For their foundation
For their walls
For their ceiling sealed with grains of sand
Shingles in a workman’s hand
A mother’s work, a father’s plan
We all need a home
